St Augustine Engagement Session

Carolyn and Austins St Augustine engagement session was so much fun! When I first spoke with Carolyn and Austin in regards to their wedding one of the first questions that they asked me is “Are you comfortable with dogs”. They made it a point that they wanted their sweet fur baby to be a part of their day. Not only at their wedding, but also for their engagement session! I of course am absolutely thrilled with this term of events. If you know me you know that we have two german shepherds, so I am absolutely comfortable with dogs!

Carolyn and Austin are tying the knot late this year at The Embassy Suites On St Augustine Beach. If you are looking for a dog friendly hotel, or wedding venue this is a great one to add to your tours list! I cannot wait for their special day. But most importantly to watch Teddy come down the aisle in his little dog groomsmen suit!

Carolyn & Austins St Augustine Engagement Session

So, back to Carolyn and Austins engagement session. We opted for a Downtown St Augustine engagement. The day of their session was a Saturday, and the streets of downtown were packed with tourists! Generally I try to avoid downtown on the weekends but Carolyn and Austin were traveling so a weekend was a must. I feel that we did a really good job choosing beautiful locations that avoided too many people in the background.

Per usual the start of their session was around the Lightner Museum. The Lightner Museum is always a popular request that I receive for engagement sessions with its gorgeous architecture and St Augustine notoriety it truly makes for the perfect neutral backdrop.

Near the backside of the Lightner Museum is a charming street called Palm Row. Palm Row is lined with charming white homes, and of course palm trees. Palm Row is always so cute for engagement sessions, just as it is here for Carolyn and Austins. I have to giggle a little because during this part of their session I was holding Teddys leash, and he was wrapped around my legs as I tried to maintain my balance while also posing and prompting Carolyn and Austin!

After finishing up at Palm Row we moved our way towards Flagler College. As any good St Augustine local I am absolutely obsessed with Flagler. Between the buildings, the landscaping and the coloring it is just the perfect backdrop.

Vilano Beach Vibes

At the end of our session Carolyn and Austin really wanted to head to the beach for some of their shots. Of course Teddy came along too! As soon as our feet hit the sand Teddy immediately got the zooomies. If you don’t own a dog, or if funny dog videos don’t crowd your tiktok algorithm like mine- the zoomies are when a dog gets so excited that they run back an forth super fast. It is so cute, and was adorable to see Teddy so excited and kicking up sand!
