Sarah & Jack reached out to me a few months before their elopement I think the last thing any of us were expecting was this windy St Augustine elopement! While this may sound like a negative thing, I cannot express just how positive and fun this experience was! I always think that visible movement in photos adds an air of romance!
Rain or Shine!
The morning of Sarah & Jacks elopement I reached out to Sarah to let her know about the weather forecast. The forecast was showing rain, but we were not concerned! I prepared by packing my camera rain jacket (every photographer should have these in their bag), and 2 clear umbrellas! When I reached out to Sarah they were actually at the courthouse already tying the knot! The plan was for me to meet them in Downtown St Augustine to capture some portraits, and to commemorate this special memory for them!
Downtown St Augustine Elopement
When it was time to meet, Sarah, Jack and I parked behind the Lightner Museum, and walked to the side ready for portraits! I am forever going to be in love with the architecture in downtown St Augustine it is absolutely magical!
Sarah, Jack an I continued taking portraits along Cordova Street in St Augustine stopping at the Casa Monica, and the front courtyard of the Lightner Museum! On a cloud free day in St Augustine I love the way that the light shines creating beautiful glowy backlighting! Thankfully the sun shone through for a few moments for me to take a few snaps of Sarah & Jack!
For Sarah and Jacks elopement I opted for a small circle around the streets in the area, to capture some beautiful scenery before heading towards Vilano Beach (which if you know me you know is my favorite local beach).
Windy Vilano Beach St Augustine Elopement
While the wind was still winding in downtown it was nothing compared to when we arrived to Vilano Beach! While we were walking down onto the beach the sand was literally pelting us! The force of the wind was also pushing us around!
Going back to what I said earlier I absolutely love when you can SEE movement in photos. The way that Sarahs hair is blowing is so incredibly romantic! Sarah, Jack and I were all in agreeance that the between the wind, and the painful beating from the sand it was just too much! So we didn’t stay on the beach too long! However we were able to capture so many incredible images in a very short time span!
